The eHealth group of Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) works in national and international consortia on research projects in which innovative care technologies and services are designed, developed, and evaluated. Therefore, the eHealth group has all the expertise to cover the complete trajectory of eHealth development: from functional and technological design to implementation in the care context.

Specifically, we are looking for a:
Job activities
Which sensor(s) should we use to asses a health parameter? How do we triangulate sensor data to inform medical treatment? Which algorithms can help us to inform personalized health monitoring and coaching? How do we communicate this advice to the patient and to the healthcare professional? And how do we make use of concepts, such as personalization, decision support functionalities, and big data? As a senior researcher, you work on these challenges and collaborate towards successful, cutting-edge eHealth innovations. You perform these tasks in collaboration with the best European companies and research institutes in the area of eHealth.
In your job, you are responsible for:
You publish the results of your research in scientific journals and you present them at scientific conferences, as well as in project deliverables, and the general media.
An experienced and enthusiastic researcher, specialized in eHealth. You hold a PhD within a technical area, like biomedical engineering, (clinical) computer science, or technical medicine. You have excellent communication skills in English (both oral and in writing). You are also able to collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team. You have good organizational skills and you have perseverance. Finally, you have written a relevant set of scientific publications and you can demonstrate that you have experience with grant writing within the (European) research domain.
A challenging job for which the starting date will be chosen together. Initially, you will receive a contract for 2 years and a working week of 36 hours. If we are both satisfied after two years, we will convert this into a permanent contract. The function falls under the collective labour agreement for Dutch hospitals, and salary is set between € 3774,- to € 5620,- per month (salary level 2021), on the basis of a working week of 36 hours.

Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) is een onderzoeksinstituut gevestigd in Enschede met als doel hoogwaardig onderzoek te doen dat leidt tot technologische innovaties in de gezondheidszorg. Het onderzoek binnen RRD is in twee clusters georganiseerd: eHealth en Revalidatietechnologie. Het instituut heeft circa 50 medewerkers in dienst met een multidisciplinaire achtergrond zoals biomedisch ingenieurs, bewegingswetenschappers, revalidatieartsen, informatici en psychologen. RRD heeft een structurele samenwerkingsovereenkomst met Roessingh, centrum voor revalidatie en de Universiteit Twente en werkt intensief samen met veel nationale en internationale bedrijven, onderzoekscentra en zorginstellingen.
